All calls for service received that come in during off hours will be reviewed when staff comes on duty.  Please make sure to leave a call back number. Staff will call you at their first opportunity.

If at anytime you have an animal related emergency please call the Sheriff Department Dispatch at 707-463-4086.  Dispatch will contact / forward the call information to the Animal Protection Officers.

For animal related calls for service in the City of Ukiah please call the Ukiah Police Department at 707-463-6262.

For animal related calls for service in the City of Fort Bragg please call the Fort Bragg Police Department at 707-964-0200.

We are closed for lunch from 1:00pm to 1:30pm.

Kennels and cat rooms close 20 minutes prior to close. Financial transaction must be completed 30 minutes prior to close.

Animal Care Services gets a lot of phone calls and people that show up at the Animal Shelter asking us to take animals from Lake County.  Due to the people living/residing in Lake County we can't assist them.

The Animal Care Services (ACS) program areas include: Shelter Services providing; education outreach, adoption, vol­unteer opportunities, fostering, lost & found services, feral cat trap-neuter-release programs and licensing.
Additional services and community supports are available through Clinic Services providing; veterinary care and surgery for shelter animals, community clients with animal health education, rabies vaccination clinics, micro-chipping and low cost spay/neuter options to the local rescue groups and low income individuals.
