Here are some useful tools the state has unveiled to help local communities keep abreast of water conditions at the local, regional, and state levels:
- CALIFORNIA WATER WATCH: Water Watch tracks the most current local and statewide water conditions down to region and even neighborhoods. This information is updated dynamically from a variety of data sources.
- CALIFORNIA GROUNDWATER LIVE: California’s Groundwater Live leverages the California Natural Resources Agency’s Open Data Platform to improve the timeliness of statewide groundwater information and make it easily accessible for water managers and the public. The platform has real-time data that will help generate greater awareness and improved understanding of groundwater to support more informed decisions over the long term.
- DRY WELL SUSCEPTIBILITY TOOL: The Dry Well susceptibility tool is an interactive mapping tool that identifies areas within California groundwater basins that may be vulnerable to future water supply shortages in drinking water wells. The user can zoom in to their area of interest down to the square mile scale. This tool is housed on the California's Groundwater Live web-based platform, which contains the latest information and data on groundwater conditions across the state.
- CALIFORNIA GROUNDWATERS PROJECT TOOL: The California Groundwater Projects Tool is an interactive map application that allows users to view groundwater management project information in a geospatial format. The tool is intended to provide information on outcomes from grant funded SGMA related projects as well as potential SGMA related projects.
