The Assessor is responsible for determining the assessed value of all taxable Real and Personal Property located within Mendocino County.  Some of the many duties of the Assessor’s office are: 

• To Discover, Locate, Map and Value All Taxable Property Within the County
• To Prepare the Assessment (Tax) Roll
• To Review & Application of Appropriate Exemption
• To Perform Mandatory Audits of Businesses (Whose Property Statements have Exceeded $400,000 for the Last Four Years)
• To Represent the County at Local Assessment Appeal Hearings

Our offices are open to the public from the hours of 8:00am to 5:00pm, including lunch hours.

• Due to a staffing shortage, we can only service up to four groups of people in at a time. Overflow seating is available in the main hall.
