The Public Guardian/Public Administrator Unit

The Public Guardian / Public Administrator Unit initiates the Court process to invoke and renew conservatorships, handles the affairs of individuals who die without family to administer their estates, and provides case management for conserved persons with mental health disabilities, dementia, or severe frailty.

The Public Guardian/Public Administrator's Office is committed, when no viable alternative exists, to compassionately and effectively protect, assist and manage in a timely manner the affairs of Mendocino County resident decedent estates and residents unable to care for themselves or those who may be a danger to themselves or others.
