Museum Endowment

Community foundation logo

The Mendocino County Museum created an endowment fund at the Community Foundation of Mendocino County in 2005 to provide financial support for our mission over the long term. Since its establishment, the Mendocino County Museum Endowment Fund has grown from $10,000 to $590,000 today and currently provides annual support for Museum operations. Growing the Endowment is critically important, as the more significant the capital, the greater the return on investment, ultimately generating larger annual revenues. A donation to the Endowment Fund is a forever gift, as the pooled principal is held in perpetuity, benefiting future generations of visitors for years to come.

County provides professional investment management and administration of the Fund, and each year the income from the Fund provides another source of funding for the charitable work of the Mendocino County Museum. The Fund also provides options for donors, who may give directly to Mendocino County Museum in support of current operations, may give to the Fund in support of the long-term financial health of our organization, or both. The endowment fund also presents an excellent option for donors who want to make legacy gifts.
