Come join your neighbors to clean the Upper Russian River and creeks and protect the health of our watershed! The Mendocino County Resource Conservation District is teaming up with the Mendocino County Water Agency, the Mendocino Solid Waste Management Authority, Friends of Gibson Creek and Russian Riverkeeper to prevent plastic and other trash from polluting our waterways and accumulating in the ocean. Last year, 140 volunteers collected nearly 2 tons of trash and 1 ton of recycling! We can do it again!
Meet 9 am – 1 pm at Oak Manor Park in Ukiah or at McCarty’s Bar and Grill, 6951 East Road in Redwood Valley to join teams and pick up litter. Be prepared to wade through water, along uneven rocks or through thick shrubs. Please wear sturdy shoes or boots--no flip flops! It’s easy, it’s fun and it makes a difference!
