Grow Incredible Tomatoes, A Talk with Fred Hempel

The Round Valley Branch Seed Library will be hosting a talk on tomato breeding by Fred Hempel, founder of Artisan Seeds. It will take place at 3:00 PM on Friday, June 2nd, in the Community Room.

He will be sharing tomato starts with community members at the Farmers Market behind the Library, before the talk, beginning at noon.

Hempel has been breeding tomatoes and peppers at Green Bee Farm in Sunol, California for two decades and his tomatoes are in high demand by chefs in the Bay Area. He will share his tips for growing and breeding tomatoes.

The Round Valley Library Branch is located at 23925 Howard Street, Covelo. The talk is free,
