Folk Art Sculptures
Thursday, April 14 2:00 - 4:00 pm
WE CHALLENGE YOU TO MAKE ART! Taking inspiration from the art of Mendocino County Folk Artist Mark Walker, museum staff have created mini art kits to share. Mark Walker prided himself on his resourcefulness and clever use of found materials to make charismatic sculptures. We challenge you to re-purpose found materials to make your own folk art sculpture.
Join us Thursday, April 7 and Thursday, April 14 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm in the Museum Interactive Room to make your own found art sculpture!
Alternately interested participants can pick up a mystery kit from the museum from April 6-13. Kits will be available on a first-come, first-served basis; educators may register in advance to reserve boxes for their classes.
Artists of all ages can submit 3 dimensional works 10” x 10” x 10" or smaller that will go on exhibit in the Museum Interactive Room through Memorial Day weekend. Submissions will be accepted April 20-27 and should include a completed display card included in the kit.
