The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) is appointed by the Board of Supervisors to oversee the administration of county government and implement decisions made by that Board of Supervisors.

Darcie Antle was appointed by the Board of Supervisors as the Chief Executive Officer of Mendocino County on July 12, 2022. The CEO is the day-to-day manager of county government and represents the County and its Board of Supervisors in a variety of activities. The Executive Office oversees the preparation, adoption, and administration of the County’s budget and coordinates the activities of other county departments to ensure the effective accomplishment of the Board's directions and policies. The position of the CEO was established by the Board of Supervisors in Chapter 2.28 of County Code.
