FEDERAL FINANCIAL HOUSING RESOURCES
Continuum Of Care Program
Promotes community-wide commitment to the goal of ending homelessness; provides funding for efforts to quickly re-house homeless individuals and families, while minimizing trauma and dislocation; promotes access to and effective utilization of mainstream programs; and optimizes self-sufficiency among individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Home Investment Partnerships (HOME)
Participating jurisdictions may use HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) funds for a variety of housing activities, depending on local housing needs. Eligible uses of funds include tenant-based rental assistance, housing rehabilitation, assistance to homebuyers, acquisition, and new construction of affordable housing. Low Income Housing Tax Credit Program (LIHTC)
Created by the Tax Reform Act of 1986, the LIHTC program gives State and local LIHTC-allocating agencies the equivalent of approximately $10 billion in annual budget authority to issue tax credits for the acquisition, rehabilitation, or new construction of rental housing targeted to lower-income households. Mortgage Credit Certificate Program (MCC)
Run by the National Council of State Housing Agencies (NCSHA), MCC is a homebuyer assistance program designed to help lower‐income families afford homeownership. The program allows homebuyers to claim a dollar‐for‐dollar tax credit for a portion of mortgage interest paid per year. For more information on MCC, click here
National Housing Trust Fund Program (NHTF)
Targeted to the building, rehabilitation, preservation, and operation of rental housing for extremely low-income people. For more information on NHTF, click here

HUD's Office Of Public And Indian Housing

Single Family Housing Direct Home Loans (Section 502 Direct Loan Program)

Multifamily Housing Programs

California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD)
HCD provides various programs for affordable rental housing and homeownership assistance, including:

California Housing Finance Agency (CalHFA)

Community Development Commission of Mendocino County (CDC)
The CDC is a Public Housing Authority and the local administrator of HUD, VA, and other housing programs. It works with other agencies to provide an array of services including subsidized rent and low income housing. To find out more about CDC and its mission, visit their website here
HUD Fair Housing and Equal Opportunity (FHEO)

California Civil Rights Housing Discrimination (CRD)
The California Civil Rights Department is responsible for enforcing state fair housing laws that make it illegal to discriminate against or harass someone because of a protected characteristic, such as their gender, race, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, or religion. The law also requires reasonable accommodations for disabilities and prohibits retaliation against someone for exercising their rights. Federal Home Loan Bank Affordable Housing Program
Provides grants or subsidized interest rate loans for purchase, construction, and/or rehabilitation of owner-occupied housing by lower- and moderate-income households and/or to finance the purchase, construction, or rehabilitation of rental housing. For more information on the program, click here
Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae)
Provides low down payment mortgage to help first-time buyers purchase a home. For more information on Fannie Mae, click here
Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (Freddie Mac) Home Possible Program

California Community Reinvestment Corporation (CCRC)
Provides long-term mortgage and bond financing for new construction, acquisition, and rehabilitation as well as direct equity investment funds to acquire housing at risk of going to market rate rents. You can find out more by following the link here
